The bodies of a British man and his son have been recovered on Mont Blanc in the Alps near Chamonix in France.
Police said the 48-year-old and the boy, who was 12, had been hiking in the Mont Blanc range, Europe’s highest mountain range.
The man, from Buckingham in the south-east of England, raised the initial alarm saying his son had disappeared after falling in Le Couloir des Bossons, an area known for being particularly difficult.
Rescue workers, dispatched in a helicopter, could not locate them on Saturday. They found them both dead on Sunday morning.
