After a religious service earlier on Friday the body of Hugo Chavez has been transported to the Military Museum in Caracas which will be his final resting place. Throngs of supporters lined the route, hoping for a glimpse of the late Venezuelan leader’s coffin.
One fan at the roadside said: “We love you, we love you very much. Chavez is not dead. And now we will be OK with Nicolas Maduro. But we are sad because he is not Chavez.”
After suggesting that Chavez’s body might be embalmed, interim president Nicolas Maduro has now confirmed that the procedure would not be possible as it is too long since the president died.
