Canadian takes charge of ISS

Canadian astronaut, Chris Hadfield, has taken charge of the International Space Station.

This is only the second time in the outposts 12-year history that command has gone to someone who is not a Russian or American.

The 53-year-old said: “It’s a huge honour and a privilege for me, but also for all the people at the Canadian Space Agency and for my entire country.”

The veteran of two space shuttle missions has taken to Twitter (@Cmdr_Hadfield) where he is sharing his experiences in orbit.
