Italian air accident investigators have opened an inquiry after a passenger plane went off the runway in strong winds at Rome Leonardo da Vinci airport. Sixteen people were hurt when the Romanian Carpatair turbo propeller crashed on landing late on Saturday night and ended up on its belly on the grass.
