Germany’s Education Minister has been accused of plagiarising part of her PHD dissertation. Monitors allegedly found questionable text in 56 pages of Annette Schavan’s 351 page philosophy thesis and will now launch a full investigation. The increased scrutiny on politicians’ qualifications follows similar accusations against former Defence Minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg in 2011. He subsequently stepped down.
