Spanish shoppers stay away from tills


More misery for the Spanish economy with news that retail sales fell off the cliff in November, down another 7.8% year-on-year. It is the 29th straight month of falls, although it is slightly less than predicted.

VAT went up three percent in September to 21% which hit sales hard, and with one in four out of work there is less money to go around. Christmas shopping has not gone as well as hoped either.
