Newtown slowly returns to normality

The funeral of another two victims from Friday’s massacre have taken place in Connecticut. Six year olds, James Mattioli and Jessica Rekos were laid to rest on the same day that students returned to schools in Newtown for the first time since 20 children and 6 adults were gunned down at an elementary school by Adam Lanza.

It is unclear when Sandy Hook Elementary will open again. For the moment it will remain closed indefinitely. It is still an active crime scene for police.

26 christmas trees representing each one of the victims have been put up and decorated outside the school.

Counseling was available for students and staff in schools in Newtown.

Americans have been shocked by the mass shootings. Some U.S. lawmakers have called for tighter gun controls.
