Three explosions have rocked Syria’s interior ministry building in Damascus.
State television says several people have been killed.
Other reports suggest dozens were injured.
The front of the building in the southwest of the city has been severely damaged by the blasts, one of which was a car bomb.
The ministry is located close to an area that has previously seen fighting between Syrian rebels and government forces.
The conflict, which has mostly been concentrated outside Damascus, has been brought to President Bashar al-Assad’s heartland in recent months.
The most damaging to the regime was a bomb attack in July which killed four of his closest aides.
