Matteo Marsaglia won his first ever super-G World Cup event at Beaver Creek in the USA on Saturday.
The Italian shot down the Colorado slope in a blisteringly quick time of 1:14.68 seconds.
This is a real shock victory as the 27-year-old has only finished in the top 10 six times in four years, with his previous best finish being fourth.
With this victory Marsaglia beats current world cup leader Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway, who finished with a time of 1:14.95 seconds.
It is the second day in a row Svindal has been knocked from the top spot by an Italian, as victory had gone to Marsaglia’s compatriot Christof Innerhofer on Friday.
Third place went to Austria’s Hannes Reichelt with a time of 1:15.38 seconds.
