Posidonia, a seagrass which feeds and maintains a rich and varied ecosystem, grows along the French Mediterranean coastline.

But more and more often what can be seen is dead plants; asphyxiated in polluted water or uprooted by the anchors of careless sailors or by rubbish dumped in the sea.
