Queens Park Rangers have announced the departure of manager Mark Hughes
following a dreadful start to the season.
The 49 year old becomes the second Premier League manager to be sacked within the space of three days after Chelsea’s Roberto Di Matteo was dismissed on Wednesday over the club’s latest embarrassing loss to Juventus in the Champions’ League.
Hughes’ departure leaves Harry Redknapp a clear favourite to take the Loftus Road hot seat.
The former Tottenham manager, who has been out of management for five months, told journalists he hadn’t personally spoken to the club, but said he planned to be at Old Trafford on Saturday for QPR’s trip to face Manchester United.
