Gaza is calm today, with last night’s ceasefire holding into daylight. Despite a few overnight strikes into Israel the truce appears to be holding, although our reporter says air-raid sirens could be heard on the Israeli side of the border at times.
Israeli security forces did make a swoop on the West Bank, arresting 55 Palestinian activists as the hunt for information about Wednesday’s Tel Aviv bus bombing continues.
Some 10,000 Gazans sought refuge in UNICEF schools. Now they want to return home, if home is still standing.
“We want to go home. We want a reprieve from the rockets. Do you think we are happy with them? No we aren’t. Neither Israeli nor Arab ones”, said one man.
