A new wave of violence has swept through several cities in Syria today.
In Damascus a car bomb exploded in a busy square in the Mezzeh 86 area of the city where several embassies are located.
These syrian state TV pictures show the aftermath. The state media say four people were killed and 20 injured.
The rebel Aisha brigade said it was behind the attack.
In Central Syria
in Hama Province the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says a suicide bomb killed at least 50 members of the Syrian security forces
This amateur video purports to shows an explosion in the town of Jisreen in Damascus on Sunday while another claims to show the results of an air raid in Idlib.
The UN says more than 20,000 people have been killed since anti-government protests began in March 2011. Activists say the death toll is as high as 30,000.
