One person has been killed and at least eight people injured after a passenger train collided with a truck in Melbourne, Australia.
State police say a man was pulled from the wreckage and later died from his injuries.
It took rescue services over an hour to free the driver from the cabin.
He is said to be in a serious but stable condition.
The truck driver escaped with minor injuries.
Three carriages were derailed and one tipped over on impact.
Authorities have not given any details as to what caused the crash, an investigation is underway.
