Still proud and prejudiced after all these years Random Penguin might sound like some unlistenable 70s rock band, but the publishing house created by Pearson’s book unit merging with Bertelsmann’s Random House will create a monster.
The joint venture will be Bertelsmann-run, with five directors to four from Pearson, and its official name will be Penguin Random House.
However News Corporation is reportedly preparing a bid for Penguin which Rupert Murdoch may want to merge with Harper Collins.
