Montreux Jazz Festival 
Established stars mix with up and coming artists at… It is Baku’s annual international jazz festival. Founded in 2005 by Azeri saxophonist Rain Sultanov, it brings together some of the world’s finest jazz musicians.
It celebrates Azerbaijan’s long-held affection for the American-born art, which dates back to the 1950s and 60s, an era when jazz was outlawed by Soviet authorities as decadent and undesirable.
