Luxembourg's new royal couple marry in church ceremony

Luxembourg Prince Guillaume and Belgian Countess Stephanie de Lannoy rounded off their two-day marriage extravaganza on Saturday, with a religious ceremony.

The church service, which followed a civil ceremony on Friday, attracted royals from around the globe.
Onlookers lined the streets in Luxembourg to catch a glimpse of the newly-weds.

”It was very, very nice. I was really impressed with the couple. They are very nice together and a lot of tenderness,” said one woman.

Another added: “We stayed there for two hours just to see the bride and the groom. It was wonderful. The dress was amazing. I almost cried.”

Speaking from Luxembourg, Euronews correspondent Fariba Mavaddat said: “The royal wedding here is not nearly as grand as that of William and Kate of England, but the celebrations and the excitement among the people of this tiny Duchy is in every aspect a match.”
