Argentina lowers voting age

Argentina has approved a bill to lower the voting age to 16 from 18 in a move criticised by some as a political tactic. President Cristina Fernandez says the amendment will extend democracy and bring Argentina in line with other Latin American countries. Opinion polls show Fernandez and her party has much support among the young.
