Germany will be looking for a third straight victory in their World Cup qualifying campaign when they lock horns with Group C rivals Ireland in Dublin on Friday.

Die Mannschaft, who’ll be without suspended captain Philipp Lahm, had a 100 percent record in Euro 2012 qualifying but have won only one of their last five encounters against Ireland.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo has been ruled fit for Portugal’s game against Russia in Moscow on Friday.

The former Manchester United winger scored both of his side’s goals in a thrilling 2-2 Clasico draw with Barcelona on Sunday before being taken off with a sprained left shoulder.

Real Madrid team-mate Pepe remains a doubt ahead of the game which could be crucial with both sides having won their opening two qualifiers.
