A new version of the opera Lulu has premiered in Berlin, with a score by Austrian composer Olga Neuwirth.

It tells the tale of Lulu, an upperclass prostitute who ends up being murdered by Jack the Ripper.

Neuwirth has taken the first two acts of Alban Berg’s Lulu, orchestrated it for a jazz ensemble, thrown in some blues and written a third act.
