Trouble with the Curve is a father-daughter reconciliation drama set against the backdrop of one of America’s favourite sports.
It tells the story of a leading baseball scout who’s age is starting to catch up with him.
Actress Amy Adams said the film should not be dubbed a ‘baseball movie’.
“This does take place with the backdrop of baseball. And that’s a lot of fun and brings a lot of humor to it. And I really loved that part of the film. But what I was attracted to was the father-daughter relationship. I hadn’t seen that explored in film very much, and, I know, I have a lot of friends … I, myself, have a father, which isn’t always the easiest to communicate with — although I love him very much.”
The movie is a directorial debut for producer Robert Lorenz and Clint Eastwood’s first film as an actor for a director other than himself since In the Line of Fire.
“I know there are a lot of films now a days, mostly on comic books. This film is just based on people and their emotions, there successes and their failures,” said Clint Eastwood.
Trouble with the Curve will be hitting cinemas on the 30th of November.
