Singer Andy Williams has died at his home in the United States after a year-long battle with cancer.
The native of Iowa was best known for the Oscar winning song “Moon River” from the classic film, Breakfast at Tiffany’s. He described it as his “signature song” and later opened a well known theatre with the same name in his adopted Branson, Missouri.
In a career which spanned over 60 years, he was nominated for five Grammy awards, and receieved 18 gold and three platinum albums. In 1962, he started The Andy Williams Show, which went on to win three Emmys.
Williams is survived by his wife Debbie and his three children.
