The spectrum of colour will highlight the Basilica Sagrada Familia one of the city’s iconic buildings and is part of Barcelona’s renowned Mercè Festival.
The church was designed by the Spanish Catalan architect, Antoni Gaudi and at the time of his death in 1926 was less than a quarter finished.
It is still being pieced together 130 years after construction began and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
