UEFA begin Lazio investigation

European footballs governing body UEFA have begun an investigation into the improper conduct of Lazio fans during the club’s Europa League game at Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday.

Media reports said that during the tie at White Hart Lane Spurs players Jermain Defoe, Aaron Lennon and Andros Townsend were the target of monkey chants from sections of the travelling supporters. UEFA said its control and disciplinary body would deal with the case on Oct. 18:
