UN condemns Georgia prison abuse

Georgia’s newly-appointed prisons minister Georgy Tugushi says he will put an end to torture and violence in detention.

The message comes in the wake of videos revealing inmates being abused and raped by guards.

The UN’s High Commissioner for Human Rights is calling for a prompt and impartial investigation by Georgia’s government.
