In the Afghan capital Kabul, a fourth day of protests against the anti-Islam film “Innocence of Muslims”
have turned violent.

More than a thousand people have taken to the streets to denounce the low budget movie, which depicts the Prophet Muhammad as a fraud, a womaniser and a child molester.

Protesters burned police cars, tyres and threw rocks at the US Camp Phoenix military base on the outskirts of the capital.

More than 500 riot police were deployed.

A local police commander says more than 20 of his officers were slightly injured after being hit by rocks.

Many shopkeepers closed their businesses for the day over fears of further clashes.
