Hungary detains 1956 war crimes suspect

Hungary has detained a former Communist Party official for his role in the suppression of the 1956 anti-soviet uprising. Ninety-year-old Bela Biszku is accused of organising the shooting civilians. It is the first time any of the Soviet-backed leaders has been arrested since a new law which states war crimes do not lapse.
