The 11th World Downhill Skateboarding & Street Luge Championships took place on the hills of Calgary where hundreds of downhill daredevils battled it out for glory.

Reaching up to 90 kilometres per hour, more than 220 racers from all over the world took part in a series of individually timed runs, then multiple heats before being whittled down to six men for the final.

American James Kelly took this year’s skateboard title while compatriot Andy Lally claimed top spot in the street luge competition.
