Turkish soldiers killed in PKK clashes

Clashes with Kurdish militants have left nine Turkish security officials, and at least 20 militants dead. The fighting happened near the southern Turkish border with Syria and Iraq.
Ankara has linked a recent upsurge in violence with the Kurdistan Workers Party on the conflict in Syria. They accuse President Assad of supporting the insurgents who are fighting for an independent homeland.
