'Raindrops keep falling' songwriter Hal David dies


American songwriter Hal David – who was most famous for the hits ‘Raindrops keep falling on my head’ and ‘Walk on By’ – has died.

The 91-year-old was also best known for his collaborations with composer Burt Bacharach, who he started working with in the late 1950s.

Their songs were hits for the likes of Frank Sinatra, Tom Jones and Dionne Warwick.

David died from complications following a stroke.
