Thousands flee Isaac in Louisiana
Hurricane Isaac, which was downgraded to a tropical depression 19 hours after making landfall, drove water over a levee in a lightly populated part of southeastern Louisiana. Dozens of people in Plaquemines Parish, who had ignored an evacuation order issued the day before, have been rescued.
