Italy oil spill into Ionian Sea

About two tonnes of oil have been spilled into the Ionian Sea at the Italian port of Taranto.

The leak is believed to have come from a Turkish vessel working with the ILVA steel company.

It is not yet known if the spill was caused by a flaw on the ship or operator error.
