An explosion of celebrations on the streets of Kingston after Usain Bolt, Yohan Blake and Warren Weir brought Jamaica triple victory in the 200 metres race at the London Olympics – winning gold, silver and bronze.
“One, two, three! I’m so happy to be a Jamaican. Big up to Bolt, Blake and Weir! And big up to the team abroad. They did superb,” said a Jamaican woman, just one of many who happily recounted “One, two, three!”
Just three days after Jamaica celebrated its 50th year of independence from Great Britain, the West Indian country dominates the 200 hundred metre race, by claiming all three spots on the podium.
