Car bomb kills Somali lawmaker

A lawmaker has been killed in a car bomb attack in the Somali capital Mogadishu.

Mohamud Abdi Ibrahim, a former minister, was known to be close to the country’s president.

The al-Shabaab militant group, which is fighting Somalia’s western-backed government, claimed responsibility for the blast which happened on Monday.
