BMW: sales up, shares down British car workers have received a huge boost with the news German car group BMW are to invest another 315 million euros in the production of the Mini.
The money will be used to increase production of the car at its factories in Oxford, Birmingham and Swindon.
It comes on top of a 630 million euro investment which was announced by BMW last June. A company spokesperson said the investment showed its commitment to Britain “as a vital manufacturing base”.
