Annual Srebrenica massacre march draws thousands

Survivors of the 1995 Srebrenica massacre have marched through the hills of eastern Bosnia to re-enact their escape from Serb forces.

Around 4,000 relatives and supporters joined the annual 110-kilometre walk that will mark the anniversary on Wednesday.

The group demanded a swift conviction for General Ratko Mladic – who is accused of orchestrating the killings – and whose genocide trial resumes on Monday.

Around 8,000 Muslim men and boys were slaughtered during one of the worst acts of the Bosnian War.

About 15,000 people managed to escape and fled through the woods.
