Established stars mix with up and coming artists at Montreux

Ian Anderson, the flute and voice behind the legendary Jethro Tull was one of the many stars at the annual Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.

He has just released Volume two of the bands iconic album Thick as a Brick, 40 years after it first hit the music scene.

Vocalist Bobby McFerrin – he of worldwide hit fame Don’t Worry Be Happy, and the legendary pianist, Chick Corea were back together again at the two-week festival.

Twenty-one-year-old Swiss singer Bastian Baker packed them in at the Stravinski Auditorium, 3,500 were there and the sold out sign went up. He has become a big favourite with young girls and their mums! His album has topped the 30,00 sales mark so as they say in the music world it has gone, “platinum”.
