Euro 2012: Winner takes all

It was a case of winner takes all for Spain at Euro 2012.

The side positioned themselves as the dominant force in European if not world football with their second straight European crown – their third major tournament in a row – after thrashing Italy in the final in Kiev.

But Spain also made a clean sweep of the accolades up for grabs in Poland and Ukraine.

Andres Iniesta was named the best player at the tournament by UEFA after lighting up the event with a stunning display from midfield.

Fernando Torres won the golden boot with three goals.

Six strikers scored the same but Torres took the prize thanks to one assist and his goals coming in just 189 minutes of play.
