The pro-opposition Syrian Observatory for Human Rights claims 30 people lost their lives as they mourned the death of a man who died in the capital just a day earlier.
An Arabic newswire puts the death toll at one hundred. With a large number of people seriously injured, there could be more deaths. The attack is being blamed on government forces.
