Mario Balotelli scored two first half goals to help Italy beat Germany 2-1 and reach the final of Euro 2012.

Balotelli headed home the opener in Warsaw on 20 minutes after out-jumping Mats Hummels to meet Antonio Cassano’s fine cross in.

The Man City striker flexed his scoring muscles again 16 minutes later when he beat the off-side trap to blast his shot past Manuel Neuer to double Italy’s lead.

Mezut Ozil scored a consolation penalty for Germany in stoppage time but Balotellis’ damage had already been done as Italy booked their ticket for Sunday’s final against Spain.
