The last prime minister to serve under former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi has been extradited from Tunisia, following a request by Libyan authorities.

Al-Baghdadi Ali al-Mahmoudi had fled the country after Gaddafi’s forces lost control of Tripoli during the uprising.

Mahmoudi was arrested in Tunisia last September for entering the country illegally.

The government in Tunis says a delegation to Tripoli found Mahmoudi would receive a fair trial if extradited.
