People Like Us reveals a journey of discovery for a fast-talking and debt-ridden salesman whose father suddenly dies. While settling his father’s estate, he discovers a 30-year-old sister he never knew of. Charged with giving his long-lost sister a portion of the estate, they meet and end up creating a lasting connection.

The film is based on the semi-autobiographical experience of screenwriter Alex Kurtzman and stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Chris Pine, Elizabeth Banks and Mark Duplass. For her new role, Pfeiffer had to ditch the glam for an emotional woman in grief.
