Thousands of fans are in the Moroccan city of Essaouira for the Gnaoua World Music Festival.

The event is in its 15th year and celebrates traditional Gnaoua music, a mixture of sub-Saharan African, Berber, and Sufi religious songs and rhythms.

In the past, it has influenced world-famous musicians like Jimmy Hendrix, Bob Marley and the Rolling Stones.
