Group A favourites Russia were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by co-hosts Poland at the Narodowy stadium in Warsaw on Tuesday.

Andrey Arshavin’s team-mates opened the scoring just before half time after Alan Dzagoev
sent a glancing header beyond goalkeeper Przemyslaw Tyton.

Poland captain Jakub Blaszczykowski eventually drew the sides level after 57 minutes with a venomous left foot shot which left the keeper with no chance.
