The Czech Republic bounced back from their disappointing loss to Russia in their opening game with a convincing 2-1 win over Group A rivals Greece in Wroclaw on Tuesday.

Petr Jiracek and Vaclav Pilar both scored inside the opening six minutes to give Michal Bílek’s men a two-goal cushion.

Theofanis Gekas pulled one back for the 2004 Champions eight minutes after the restart and despite a late push to equalise, the Czech Republic eventually held on to secure all three points.
