Cement producer Lafarge to cut costs

Lafarge, the global cement producer, has announced plans to cut costs by 1.3 billion euros over the next four years.

The group is carrying debts of 12.4 billion euros and is looking to reduce the burden to 10 billion.

Lafarge hopes to save 400 million this year alone.
The cement market is relatively solid with Lafarge picking up business in the emerging markets.
