An unprecedented gathering of global movers and shakers in Gabon have ended a conference recommending ways of boosting business opportunities in Africa.
Under the name – New York Forum Africa – the conclusions of 600 experts from finance and industry will be passed to the G20 summit in Mexico later this month.
After years of instability six of the world’s ten fastest growing economies in the past decade are in Africa. For once the issue is not about sending aid but more question of encouraging investment.
euronews correspondent Francois Chignac said:
“If there’s one conclusion to be drawn from the forum it’s that an economic boom in Africa isn’t a myth but a reality. However, we will have to see in a year’s time whether the recommendations made by the forum change from being wishful thinking into something more concrete.”
