Former Wolfsburg striker Mario Mandžukic scored a brace of goals to hand Croatia a convincing 3-1 win over The Republic of Ireland at the Miejski Stadium in Poznan on Sunday.
After conceding an early goal, Giovanni Trapattoni’s men equalised in the 19th minute when Leicester City’s Sean Patrick St Ledger headed home from Aiden McGeady’s free-kick.
The Republic of Ireland then pushed but it wasn’t to be as Mandžukic and Nikica Jelavić both struck to make sure of the win.
