Police target Paris bars in Canadian Psycho probe

Police hunting the so-called ‘Canadian Psycho’ killer have been carrying out what they call ‘targeted searches’ in and around Paris.

Interpol issued a Red Notice for Luka Rocco Magnotta, suspected of dismembering his boyfriend in Montreal.

French police have been visiting various locations in the belief that he either is, or has been, in the French capital.

One witness said officers visited a bar in the north-west of Paris late on Friday night where they checked security tapes and left with cola bottles, taking care not to damage potential fingerprints.

The 29-year-old former porn actor is suspected of murdering Lin Jun, a student at Concordia University in Montreal.

Canadian police said the two men were in a relationship.

A video of the killing appeared on the internet and dismembered body parts were sent through the postal service.

Investigators are checking airport records in case Magnotta has slipped back into Canada under another identity.
