Myanmar opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi has been meeting Burmese refugees during her visit to Thailand.

Thousands of people from the Mae La Camp, in Tak Province, greeted the nobel laureate, who is making her first visit to the country in 20 years.

“Today, I saw Suu Kyi, I’m very happy,” said one refugee.

A woman added: “I’ve been in Thailand for 45 years now. I have never gone home. It’s like my own mother coming.”

Suu Kyi has also met Thai officials and attended a World Economic Forum during her visit.
